Urgent Communiqué: COVID-19 Vaccination and Safety Measures for businesses

During the previous weeks, Mauritius has recorded high rates of COVID-19 contamination. This situation has put tremendous strain on our health services. The Health Authorities have recommended all citizens to get vaccinated as the vaccines provide adequate protection against the virus.

COVID-19 Third Dose Vaccination

A booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is also highly recommended as it gives an added layer of protection against the COVID-19. It creates a barrier to the onward transmission and thus, reduce the spread of the virus in the community. Business Mauritius encourages its members to register for the third-dose vaccinations as of today, Monday 22 November 2021 on the Economic Development Board(EDB) website link.

As per the criteria, a booster of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, irrespective of the first and second dose, will be administrated to those who have been fully vaccinated for at least four months.

Please find the list of 11 fixed Vaccination Centres which are available for the booster dose:

  • Plaine Verte Youth Centre
  • Swami Vivekanand International Convention Centre, Pailles
  • Anjalay Stadium, Mapou
  • Rivière du Remport Youth Centre (temporarily)
  •  Riche-Mare Community Centre

Additionally, Business Mauritius strongly encourages enterprises to implement the Work-From-Home (WFH) Scheme, as far as possible, to prevent or reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.

WFH is considered as one of the most effective initiatives to curb the spread of COVID-19 as it limits human interaction at the workplace.
